Emily's Story
THIS STORY WAS SHARED WITH US VIA EMAIL!

I think our daughter, Emily, is a success story for Interactive Metronome and Children’s Therapy Center. We started
going to Children’s Therapy Center when she was in kindergarten. Now Emily is in first grade.

Over the past year, Children’s Therapy Center helped our daughter with her fine/gross motor skills, core stability and
overall sensory integration disorder.

In January (school’s 2nd quarter), her teacher called us in to discuss the concerns she had with Emily. She suggested
that Emily be evaluated for ADD because she was having problems focusing, listening and not doing her best work. We
disagreed with her and talked with Leah, Emily’s OT about what the teacher suggested. Leah and Terri decided it was
a good time to try Interactive Metronome.

It was hard for Emily at first. She could barely last three minutes doing the exercises. She was frustrated at times, but
Terri kept with her.  It was hard on us because it was four days a week. Luckily, we both have supportive supervisors
and we were able to leave work early to get her to the appointments. At the end, Emily could stay focused for more
than 30 minutes at one time.

I have included the comments from Emily’s first grade report card. Emily started Interactive Metronome after the
school’s 2nd Quarter. IM was worth the time and money for us because our daughter is succeeding now. She seems
to enjoy school more and wants to get her homework done first thing when we get home. She has more stamina and
I don’t hear her saying “I’m tired” anymore. IM has been a boost for her.

Emily’s Report Card Comments
1st Quarter Comments: “Emily has shown progress in all areas. She is a bright girl but doesn’t always apply herself. We
continue to work on being a good listener and doing our best work.”

2nd Quarter Comments: “Emily continues to show progress in all areas. It’s important for Emily to stay focused, listen
carefully, and follow directions at all times. She needs to always put forth her best efforts. Keep reading!”

<Interactive Metronome started>

3rd Quarter Comments: “Emily is more focused and has an easier time getting her work done :-)  She is contributing a
little more in class and I am seeing her take more pride in her work.  Nice Progress :-)”

Thank you Leah and TerI!
