Small -    
1 to 2 servings of carbohydrate & 1 serving of protein
example: 1/2 cup cereal & 1/2 cup milk
1 small fruit & 1 oz. cheese
3 crackers with a handful of nuts
1/2 bagel with 1 teaspoon peanut butter

Nutritious
choose high fiber foods, such as whole wheat                                      
crackers or whole fruit. Avoid "sugary"  high fat foods                          
such as ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.

hydrAtion -       
drink lots of liquid with your snack.  Water, juice,                                  
sports drinks and milk are good choices.


Convenience -
should be easy to prepare and portable.  Always                                 
keep food safety in your mind.



Kick away the hunger -
Snacks help you avoid over-hunger at meal times                                
and reduce the chance of over eating.
